Google Local Searches

In these times of economic hardship and if you listen to the daily news the hardships are actually going to get worse what do you have to do to get more customers?

If you notice the map on the right of the page with the red place markers on it, these place markers correspond with the search results in the Google main search results area, this bascically means that if your business details are not being shown on the first page of Google for local results then people are not going to call you.

Ok, so you might say “most people use Yellow Pages” for getting business information, I’m sorry to say that this just is not the case anymore, you see most people have a computer at home, either a desktop or a laptop however even more people have a mobile phone that is classed as a smart phone which receives exactly the same search results as your laptop of desktop.

People are also lazy, there may well be 30 or 40 or more electricians in and around your local area but do you think for a minute that the customer will look any further than the first page of Google, absolutely not, if your not on the first page, forget it.

That really is the $64,000 question, in that I mean if you have a website that sells luxury yachts then paying thousands of dollars or pounds to get on the first page of Google would not be too much of a problem however if you had a website that made $40 or $50 profit then paying thousands of dollars to get there would be out of your reach.

First Page Of Google

Many of my customers and students have all asked the same question, How do I get on the first page of Google? My answer to the is the same to both customers and students, Getting on the first page of Google, is relatively simple, that is to say it really depends on which keyword/s you are tageting, if for example you want to get on the first page of Google for the keyword “Internet Marketing” you will find it almost impossible to rank for that immediately or in the near future however proper training, off and onsite optimisation you will eventually start to see an increase in your serps ranking, another way to get on the first page of Google is to do keyword research around the keyword “internet marketing”, this basically means finding a keyword/s that has not so many searches per month, has low competition but will still make you money.

Having the first page of Google ranking for a keyword that has 9,000 or less searches a month will make you more money in the short term than trying to rank for a search term that has 200,000 + per month searches, in essence keep doing your website optimisation for your main keyword/s but also hit the smaller searched for keyword/s, this will make you money whilst you are waiting to get to the first page of Google for your main keyword.

Getting To The First Page Of Google

As you can see from the header of my website, it is quite self explanatory that if you get to the first page of Google you will undoubtably see an increase in website traffic which in turn means an increase in revenue or earnings, it is very simple to explain, NO ONE and I mean NO ONE visits the second or subsequent pages of Google unless they are trying to see just how far down the list their website actually is.

Having been in the internet marketing business for 5 years or more I think I know what I’m talking about, I have had up and downs, when I first started in internet marketing, I, like any other internet marketing wanna be, used Google Adwords for driving customers to our websites, it was extremely expensive and there was a lot of hard work involved however the returns if you got it right were fantastic.
